Shipping prices for paintings are based on cost because it tends to correlate with size. This cost is marked standard shipping when you check out.

If you are only purchasing notecards, ornaments or pendants use the dropdown menu to select small items orders only to get lower shipping costs, particularly for more than 10 cards. Also consider a separate order for note cards if you are buying both note cards and a painting (or two!) as the overall shipping may also be less.
